Assembling Tomorrow’s Hopes

We begin the school day with a prayer. A thought for the day, headline news, interesting facts and 'shlokas', followed by a rendition of the National Anthem are an integral part of the morning assembly. We start our day by making a firm commitment to do our best-for the school and ourselves.

Morning Assembly is not just a compulsory ritual of school life but to begin with they set the tone of a disciplined and, organized day. As the students get into their respective lines in the assembly, they get the message that school is in session and they get ready to follow the pattern set out for the day.

We at SPRS feel that School Assembly inculcates discipline among the students. They learn patience as they stand quietly in their respective lines. They learn to listen to others and critically evaluate the presentations later on and they also relax their minds with the enlightening meditation which is taught at that very moment.

Science Laboratories

The futuristic Biology, physics and chemistry labs at SPRS amply demonstrate the significant role played by laboratories in enlightening and empowering young minds in their relentless pursuit of contemporary knowledge. It would be an understatement to say that the lab facilities at SPRS are ultramodern and sophisticated. Every effort is made to ensure that all the students spend ample time in the lab.

It’s a treasure trove of books pertaining to all the significant areas including academics, sports, entertainment etc. The library is well stocked with various encyclopaedias, course books, journals, and magazines etc, which are frequently updated for the convenience of the students. The habit of referring library books is inculcated in the students’ right from an early stage. Our School library provides academic resources for all constituents of the school -students, faculty and administrative staff. The library strives to make resources readily accessible when and wherever they are needed to enhance and promote the total growth and development of the students. The library endeavours to provide students with opportunities to learn how to utilize materials in a variety of formats to access information so that they can continue lifelong learning.

Unlimited Fun amidst unending Greenery

School gardens are a wonderful way to use the schoolyard as a classroom, reconnect students with the natural world and the true source of their food, and teach them valuable gardening and agriculture concepts and skills that integrate with several subjects, such as math, science, art, health and physical education, and social studies, as well as several educational goals, including personal and social responsibility.

The Benefits of School Gardens

Experience and research have shown numerous benefits of school gardens and natural landscaping:

  • Students learn focus and patience, cooperation, teamwork and social skills.
  • They gain self-confidence and a sense of "capableness" along with new skills and knowledge in food growing.
  • Garden-based teaching addresses different learning styles and intelligences; our non-readers can blossom in the garden!
  • Achievement scores improve because learning is more relevant and hands-on.
  • Students become more fit and healthy as they spend more time active in the outdoors and start choosing healthy foods over junk food.

Open Air Theatre

This unique setup styled on the lines of a futuristic amphi-theatre hosts a number of activities including dance, karate, yoga, aerobics and other cultural activities.

Dining Hall

Meal times are happy times at the SPRS. All the children sit together and share meals. It is a good opportunity for bonding and fosters greater camaraderie between students. The teachers also eat with the children and this facilitates a closer bond between them. The children are also taught dining room etiquette and table manners. Consistent with the adage that a ‘healthy mind rests in a healthy body’ every care and attention is devoted to provide students at SPRS with the kind of nutrition that growing children require. It is often quite a challenge to design a menu that offers meals that are healthy and nutritious as well as tasty and appealing to the varied tastes of young children! This challenge has been surmounted at SPRS.

The dining hall caters to six hundred people at a time & serves hygienic and nutritious vegetarian meals under the supervision of a trained dietician, planned by a food committee. Requests for special diet, supported by medical evidence, are accommodated in cases of illness, convalescence and allergies to specific food items.

Junk food and carbonated beverage are not allowed. By insisting that the children should eat the nutritionally balanced and healthy food provided by the school, it is ensured that children acquire correct food habits.

Medical Facility

The school has full time nursing personnel on campus and a visiting doctor to provide medical assistance to students and staff. There are separate infirmaries for boys, girls and little children.
